Authentic Bogolanfini

About Tasteful Textiles

Two sisters, Kathleen (Kitty) Tibbs and Audrey J. Dinkins, share their love of the arts and crafts to form their company, Tasteful Textiles, in April 2017.

Kitty, the minimalist, visualizes and postulates things that are formed, shaped and sealed “inside of the box” to convey the uniqueness of her artwork.  Audrey, on the other hand, likes to venture outside of the box and capture all of those intricate details to create something unique and extraordinary that captures that deep inner feeling. Even though we are at opposite ends of the spectrum of ideals, we bonded together to form our company, Tasteful Textiles, to showcase our love for the arts and crafts by applying the uniqueness and artistic meanings of Bogolanfini mud cloth and other textiles on canvas and other media.

We look to market our artwork and products online and face-to-face through lifestyle venues; art galleries; home goods markets; home staging companies for new and rehab homes, businesses and organizations and reality tv shows. We want to live our dream and ambition through the aesthetic minds of others.

We are located in a small close-knit community, whose extent of the cultural arts takes them only as far as their neighborhood. We would like to open their eyes and perceptions to more possibilities, especially the young children in the community. We would like to open their eyes and perceptions to more possibilities, especially the young children in the community. One of our goals is to open our shop to the public and offer workshops to enable anyone in the community who has a desire to come and create (and possibly market) their crafts in partnership with us. Who knows, maybe we can inspire another artist to become as famous as Picasso or Harriet Powers!!
